If you live in Portland, or coming west on HWY 26, the closet town and beach will probably be Seaside, Or. Seaside is a small resort city in northwestern Oregon. Its beach is known for surf breaks and a 1920s promenade. The Seaside Aquarium has touch tanks and a seal exhibit. Rich wildlife includes eagles in the Necanicum River estuary and migrating gray whales. Downtown Seaside is located among the boardwalk, steps away from the beach. It is perfect for families with children; it provides restaurants, arcade games, carousel, shops, and the Seaside Aquarium for their enjoyment. Also great for adult visitors as there are breweries, bike rides, and nearby trails for those are ready to explore.
